McVayo
biography

I was born in Central Europe in a very non-artist family. From a young age I was exposed to different cultures of both Eastern and Western Europe. I travelled extensively admiring the architecture, art, traditions and the beauty of the natural environment, taking numerous photographs from my travels. Later, after settling down in UK I visited Australia, USA and North Africa. I started my adventure with art as an adult. Firstly I was painting with watercolour but used much more colour than water so I switched to acrylics...I am trying to translate my unique memories and experiences from travelling and photographs into my paintings. My inspiration comes from the indulgence of hot climate and Mediterranean cultures. I use my artist name McVayo, which comes from my full name, to sign the works. I create vivid compositions working with mixed media and acrylics. Characteristic features of my work are the use of vibrant colours often enriched by gold and the texture created by using collage. I am experimenting with different materials to achieve the desired results. I am a member of Harrow Art Society, where I exhibits twice a year. I held my own exhibition called "Flames of Mediterranean Zephyr" at The Radlett Centre between 7-31 January 2009. I also exhibited 14 of my works in Malvern Theatre in Great Malvern between 29 May and 10 July 2011.
